We recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in a corporate Ekiden (running race) in Tokyo organized by Sportone: https://sportsone.jp/ed/
This exhilarating event brought together teams from various organizations to complete in a rally, with each team member running a 5km segment.
An Ekiden is a Japanese relay race that involves multiple runners. Unlike traditional relays, where teams pass a baton, in an Ekiden, runners carry a special cloth called a “tasuki” that is passed from one runner to the next. This unique tradition adds a symbolic element to the race.
As each runner completed their 5km segment, they passed the tasuki on to the next team member. The crowd’s cheers and support fueled our runners. In the end, all runners crossed the finish line with a sense of accomplishment and pride.
Participating in the Tokyo Ekiden was more than just a race; it was an unforgettable experience. It allowed us to immerse ourselves in the local corporate culture, connect with colleagues on a deeper level. We are grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this incredible event.
